Hing is the one spice you cannot skip in these. A strong hing means a smaller pinch and a longer-lasting pack.
Heat ghee till it shimmers, add jeera and chilli, then a pinch of hing for two seconds before pouring over the dal. The hing should smell sweet, never sharp.
Hing goes in with the mustard seeds. In a sour kadhi it rounds out the tang and replaces the onion and garlic that a Jain or vrat kitchen leaves out.
Bloom hing in hot oil with jeera and ginger. It is what gives a dhaba-style aloo its smell, and it helps digest fried food, which is why it sits next to every poori.

Bandhani hing is compounded asafoetida, the form used in Indian kitchens: asafoetida resin bound with edible gum and flour so it can be dosed by the pinch and stays dry in the dibbi. Ours uses a high resin share for a strong aroma. The composition and FSSAI licence number are printed on every pack.
The organic handwash, organic dishwash and herbal floor cleaner use plant-derived surfactants and essential oils and are free of SLS, parabens and synthetic dyes. Ask us for the ingredient sheet and test reports.
Send a photo on WhatsApp within 48 hours of delivery and we replace it free. Opened hing packs are not returnable for food-safety reasons.
